There's a w.h.i.s.p.e.r. on the night ~w~i~n~d~ there's a s*t*a*r agleam to g/u/i/d/e us, And the Wild is c.a/l.l/i.n/g, .xcallingx. . . . let us go
The wind blew cold on her white face. Her innocent brown eyes were half closed, her elegant face turned from the wind, shielding herself form its graceful bitterness. It's cold beauty, and irony that she much admired. The snow fell so hard that it stung her, even through her coat. She didn't mind, though, because this land was hers. Or at least it would be soon.
Golden dove looked up at the mid-day sun. It was funny how it shined so brightly through the veil of sun that misted her view of it. She closed her eyes, a slight relief from the snow, and lifted her head. She raised her right front paw, and let out a long song. The song was full of grace, beauty, and respect. Respect for those long since gone, and for the masters of whom many doubted they would ever come to see. It was true, Whisper was much too young to remember them, but she was old enough to revere them, to dedicate. It was a song of claimance. It rang throughout the glacier, and seemed to dance with the colors of the ice. The fem lowered her head, and it seemed as though out of respect, the snow ceased, for as soon as her howl had ended, the snow vanished. "This land, in remembrance of all those dear to me and my future pack, will be named silent Reverie." she spoke to herself. She then looked out over her land as she stood atop the glacier. She could see all of it in its perfect splendor. She was now only in need of one to share it with, for a home is only a home when there is a family to call it so.

One gait. Three paw prints. Two gaits. Six in all. The snow soared a plenty, and a speed so fast, there was no valid explaination for three imprints each vast leap.
It was happening.
A male raced freely againist the turbulent winds, attempting to throw him backwards in his tracks. Snow leaped up and struck his face, then recylcing back onto the pearly ground it came from. The cold bit his paws, and made them bright red from so much cold. Adjusting to the sudden change in degrees was shocking, for this dog had just come from hundreds of miles South.
Could it really be this cold? Apparently so.
There was another smell rising from the foliage. The scents were heaven, pungent and fresh, sweet as a fresh, meaty steak as they rose into Thantos's muzzle. He sighed in a dream, imagining what creature, angel produced this extraordinary fragrance that left him in a daze.
Whoever it was, this was obviously their territory.
Letting out a throaty, monotone howl, Thantos signaled his arrival and stood in his tracks, waiting for the occupiant to find him.

She jumped gracefully down step like formations of ice until she reached the bottom. She'd almost slipped when she was almost down, but had caught herself, thankfully. She hit the ground with a small huff for the last jump was a long one. She looked up and smiled at her accomplishment, and she gave a sigh of relief.
She glanced around, and her ears fell. She took a few slow steps forward and looked around her solemnly. Down, and up as if expecting to see someone that hadn't been standing on the ground. She lowered her head in the realization that she was quite alone. Just as this occurred to her, she heard a low tune run through the sky. The wind, softened by the glacial walls around her, blew her fur once more, and the snow, also softened, caused the fem to absorb more moisture. She was quite cold, though she hadn't noticed, being so excited earlier. She didn't really mind though, she was so happy to hear another's voice. With a smile and a returning howl, the fem bounded off, aura shining with warmth and tail wagging excessively.
She soon saw him and she flashed him a grand smile from a distance. She was so excited that her natural elegance and grace seemed to leave her. She tried running faster than her legs would allow, and so when she was near him, she tumbled over herself, coming to a not so lady-like halt...well pile, near his feet. She shook the cold snow form her face and looked up at him, blushing. Her brown eyes looked at him in half embarrassment and apology. "Well...hello. My name..is..um...Whisper..." she said, stumbling over her words, but her voice was still melodic, soft and welcoming. Se stood and took a few steps back, shaking off the snow. Her mocha eyes looked to him sweetly, her head tilted innocently, and a friendly smile graced her maw.
The sweet little thing. She was so preoccupied by the thought of company that his scars, and his ragged appearance didn't even occur to her, even tohugh she was looking right into his eyes. Even if she had noticed, she wouldn't have cared. He was a soul and a potential friend, family members. He was yet unnamed, but when she knew it, that is whom he would be, and no type of disfiguartion would change it. He was Thantos, or he would be soon.

The male knew from the sounds of her voice that he was in no danger. For once. He lead himself into believing that maybe they wouldn't see him past his rough exterior, and treat him like he was normal. It was a foolish thought, one he had wondered many times before, each as he was exiled and banned, and escaped with a near death.
Another smoooth, melodic wave hit him, letting the sides of his mouth drop into a doggish smile. Never before had he felt so welcomed; so confused. All of his legs were twitching with anxiety, eager to meet this female. By her step, she held alot of grace and elegance. A treasured swan in a mere world of uglies.
He took in her body language, all yelling signs of exceptance and glee. His own tail relaxed and swept side to side, and his tongue lolled out to the corner of his mouth. A blast of perfume swept him off of his feet. The purest of utterly enchanting fragrinces leaving him in a cloud of peace and fantasy.
Her face was masked in a cloud of white, not secretive, but open and sharing. No lines etched from growling, but her smile seemed to spread from ear to ear. She appeared to have had as much contact with others previously as him himself.
"Whisper. . . Such a beautiful name."
Deeply he meant it, whether or not it came across as sincere. She looked fragile, innocent before him, yet he felt no desire to take her, or harm her in any way. In fact, quite opposite. He could feel rose waves crashing and flooding across his maw, a deep and warm blush as he even felt himself lost for words, in awe by the female. She also brought a nervousness upon his mind, engulfing it in a strange charm as he assumed.
"Thantos. Pleased to meet you."
All his words came out jumbled, like a toys on a backed up conveyor belt. There was a strong, apparent stuttering along with it. It would be amazing if she fully understood him.
For a while he just gazed into her chocolate brown optics, seeing the other side of the gender for once. After a few minutes, he relized he was staring and quickly hid his face between his legs, chuckling hearily.
"Sorry 'bout that. It's been so long. I guess I needed a refresh on the face of beauty."

Whisper noticed that he seemed to relax. This was when she realized that he'd been tense at all in the first place. Maybe she was a bit too jittery. She calmed herself and tried to tone down her...energy. She took a few slow steps toward him as he spoke, and he stood diagonal to him, closer than before. She looked at him, and she wasn't really analyzing, just looking. He seemed more relaxed, but not completely. She noticed his tail moving and she grinned slightly, eyes closing sweetly with content. She decided that he would get along fine.
She looked at him to speak, not knowing what to say to his compliments. This is when she noticed, looking at him she finally came to notice his appearance. She gasped, and took a surprised step back. No, he didn't scare her, she was just oblivious. She didn't take the time to think it through. She thought he has just obtained his missing limb. "Are you all ri...!" she began hastily, voice seeping with worry. Before she finished she caught on to her mistake. "Are you...you are Thantos!" she stammered, looking away, then down, then up, all within a second, a weird nervous habit. "Yes...yes...you are Thantos. An honor..." she stumbled softly, looking down and blushing furiously. She was so ashamed! What if she...hurt him? Brought back memories, what if he thought she rejected him? She decided to try and cover up by answering him, but what to say? His words were just as flattering now as before. She looked to him modestly. "I...beautiful? Me...I, well...I...Thank you." she said with honest modesty. She laughed. She often laughed out of nerves whenever she was complimented, as if she was thanking them, but didn't believe it to be true. She looked back up and saw him looking into her eyes, at which he added another comment. She tilted her head and a graceful smile met her lips. He was so kind, and she showed that she knew so. She walked to stand face to face with him again. "Ah, and I the face of courage, strength." she said, her words expressing their truthfulness within her tone and just the mere look in her eyes. "I am honored to look on you, Thantos." she said softly with sincerity. She would have said handsomeness, but she came to the conclusion that in fact it wasn't a word, and so she would provide him with that compliment at a later time, when it would fit better. She smiled and looked deep into his eyes.
Looking into his eyes, so strange yet with an awkward wonder, her fondest wish was to get to know him, to be his friend, his companion, his family. This wish showed greatly in her brown eyes, if he were to be looking. She smiled, eyes actually filling with tears. She held them back, she would tell him what she thought, but first she would let him speak.

His gaze remained averted, staring blankly at the ground. A mixture of blood rushed into his vision, clouding everything with a deep scalet, as if the world world had just been wrecked and thrown into turmoil. The raw scar on his cheek still ached and burned as the many muscles sculpting his jaws flexed, as if it had just been ripped freshly, or yesterday.
It was also a bit ironic as she brought up his. . . Disabilities. From the years of exploring and pioneering he had done. Those were the trophies as some may have referred too. He didn't necisarily call them that, for they were neither burdens. More like livabilities, if there was such a word.
"Oh. . Those. Many memories that brings. But never fear Whisper, they cause me no pain."
He nosed her jaw in a sign of forgiveness, seeing the expression on her face looked a bit self-ashamed. It was often he got exclaimations of his unnusual, mutant figure. The differance betweem these was that her language only read concern, so he knew there was no spite.
Taking a reversed step, retracing his once-marked paw-prints, Thantos let out a playful yelp and retreated into the open. The many tall, dense pines flashed before him, then he bounded up, catching a glance.
This was his gait. His individuality.
The apparent long strides he was taking signified that he felt no pain, and wasn't incredibly limited. Of course his right side was dyed bloody, leaving him a little agressive and blood thristy. It could be dangerous, but for the fem's sake he kept his strance cravings at bay.

She looked at him, and watched with pity and admoration as he beared his obvious pain. She closed her eyes, and her ears fell, for she couldn't help but feeling so ashamed, that she had no battle scars, nothing to prove her worth, and he stood so brave, so tall, so strong...thorugh everything he'd apparently been through. She opened her eyes just in time to feel his warm soft touch, at which she blushed. She nuzzled him back slightly, and was going to deepen it's meaning, but he had already ran off after speaking. She smiled, hea tilted and bounded after him, glad to hear he wasn't hurt.
She ran after him, very quick. She was one of the fastest runners in her old family. She easily caught up with him, then leaped and sort of tackled him. She was laughing sweetly, almost uncomtrolably, and her tail sweeped back and forth constantly. Her eyes were closed, the often where when she was happy or laughing. She opened them and looked into his eyes. They weren't strange to her, only handsome in their own way. She bent her neck down and nuzzled him gently, before giving him a quick lick on his cheek. "You are very handsome, Thantos." she said with a smile. "And...I really enjoy your company. If you need a home..." she looked away shly. "Would you ever consider staying with me?" she finished.

Her soft, gentle touch hung on his cheek like a humid shadow. It's heat engulfed his body, sending him into a dreamie trance. Sort of feelings were inexplainable, for he had never felt this way before, never felt such a connection with anyone before.
Then again, no one else had ever opened up to a crippled dog before, either.
Her increasing, immeditly trackable scent rose behind him. Obviously she ran fast, something that many slender, elegant, fleet footed females tend to do. It often left them with great strides and grace, a perfect sight to drool over. Agility was also good in battle, and seeing she was now considered alpha, she would need such qualities.
Thantos slowed his pace, knowing she was coming, and preparing her attack. Just as she leaped, he rolled to the side a little, guessing her angle and momentum. When she followed through, the male grasped her in his front paws, a mischievious, kind smile spreading from ear to ear across his face.
His tail beat like a mad man againist the snow-blanketed earth. She had captured her with an enhancing charm. Her voice was so melodic and sweet, his ears begged to ear it's chimes ringing once more. And again. And again. As soon as she spoke, his smile faded into shock, never hearing such truely spoken words directed at him.
"H-h-handsome? Well. . I don't really know about handsome. . "
Thantos was tied up for words, all the possible things to say were jumbled up in his mind. Suddenly his cheeks reddened, and he fough the blush with all of his might. If not for some self-control, he might've begun giggling madly, which was a bit too feminine for him.
The air lost it's sound, or at least in his mind. All his focus remained on Whisper from her last statement, her offer. She was the only thing he saw, nothing else apparently mattered. A first friend, a special friend. The first to give him a piece of this world, a meaning for being wanted.
Out of joy and excitement, Thantos whined happily and licked her chops greedily, giving out a little too much. After all, he had just met her, and he was already kissing up to her like a love-sick old hound.
Pulling back, he choked out a nervous laugh, and simply said;
"Yes."

She looked at him, her brown eyes quivering, the way eyes do when they are happy. Her eyes filled with tears again, happy ones. He was so...perfect, uniquely perfect. She couldn't find a single thing wronh with him. His voice was kind and brave, and it conveyed a silent loyalty. She smiled at his answer to her compliment, but didn't speak, she wanted to hear his answer to her question.
To her great happiness, he agreed. It was a simple answer, but the only word she needed to hear. She giggled, her tail sweeping, and she jumped off him, did a little jump twirl, all before running around him excitedly. She jumped to have her forlegs quite gently over him. She nuzzled her neck against his, and he would be able to feel the damp warmth of her joyful tears. She jumped off, and a little late, returned his affection. She licjed him sweetly, eyes closed. She licked him a few more times, not beiing able to contain herself. With a beautiful smile she opened her eyes and found herself staring into his. "Thantos...I do know." she whispered. She was refering to that while he didn't know about handsome, she knew it with her whole being. Tears streamed from her shining eyes, but she hoped he understood the reason for them.

All of her joy suddenly made him a self-aware. Her perfect health, flawless sculpture. She almost appeared to be a bit too stunning. It was strange- No battle scars, no evidence of any mischief. It was almost strange, an alpha with no battle history.
Never-the-less she saw him. Actually him, past the imperfections and rough exterior, something most failed to even begin to comprehend. Even on minimum level.
Here, right before him, was a chance at an amazing destiny. A female; exceptional, kind, understanding. Not only that, but she was exceptionally stunning. Looking slightly pampered and domesticated, he wondered about her origins. Something he would've asked if he wasn't caught up in a dream.
"I must be dreaming. . Or something of the sort. . For you to compliment me. . Seems so illogical. . "
Then again, he was very optimistic. A fresh river of red bloomed across his cheeks, renewing the embarassing blush. He felt it was a bit too feminine to meet the essence.
He took a step behind him, not fully accepting this blessing. It was almost too fake, he just couldn't put a paw on it. So much of his life was wasted in the pain of poverity, he was so sick of it. Yet, here, someone who didn't see the missing limb, the lameness and cripple.
"You. . You seriously aren't bothered?"

Her chocolate eyes still held tears, but her face was graced with a luminous smile. Whisper looked into his, and laughed whole-heartedly. Her tail flicked its way back and forth through the chilly air. She bounded a few steps away, then proceeded to bound back, landing only a pace or so away from him. At the moment she landed the last of his first dialogue was spoken. "Dreaming? Surely not, for you have never met me." she said cheerily.
She trotted over and sat next to him, her fur brushing against his just slightly. She could feel the secure warmth of his body, and she looked up at him, feeling quite safe and taken care of, even though she was supposed to be the alphess. She was about to smile again, but didn't get the chance for he commented on her actions. She tilted her head and her ears fell slightly. She didn't know what to say. Of course she didn't mind! She stood and with worried eyes brushed her neck against his lovingly a few times before licking his face thrice or so, affectionately. "bother me!" she questioned. "Bother me?" she asked again, softer, and her eyes flooded with compassion as she stared into his. She was so surprised at this question, though in the back of her mind, she could see why it was a logical question. "Thantos...never. I see you, not your body. There is nothing wrong with you. Your spirit, your kindness, you eyes, your smile, you everything..." she said and paused. "Is perfect..." she said softly, and licked him again, to show that she meant it.

Though his mind was deeply thrown into a strange turmoil, he found time to stare across Whisper's amazing features. Her deep, chocolate gaze, and her solid white mask to make her beauty more prominate. At least she could she past his imperfections, deep into his soul. It was a gianormous plus that she was such a treasure.
"Why m'dear, you are the stuff dreams are made of."
His stance melted into hers, joining them as one. A worried sigh flowed out of him like the Nile, and he found himself in a dark, dark world. She was his only comfort, his safe harbor on the shore. Perhaps she was the one to save his last remaining sanity. A mate even, to raise a family and leave his scarred past within those dark waters that were so struggled through. If fact, he was almost drowned, or given up anyways. His ego now buried within those waves, and all of his pride.
With her little shout his body pulled away in a quick motion, wondering if he had raged her with his slightly rude, judgemental comment. With the signs and flows of affection she gave off, he quickly pulled back into her warm pelt, squeezing his eyes shut and taking away all of his emotional pain. His muzzle rubbed againist her neck, keeping the connection to happiness alive.
A great shudder ran through his body as he remembered his stunted leg.
"Yet, you are so perfect. I cannot hunt well, nor can I properly mate with anyone. . "
He glanced down at his leg, his eyes filled with the sharp daggers of pain, remembering this deep sorrow. It was true, he could barely hunt for himself, let alone the struggles to mount a female; without harming her.
"Perhaps. . Perhaps I should relieve you of your burden. . "
Even as he told himself, and her as well, he still remained leaning into her warm, fragrent fur. At least these would be good last memories. If only he hadn't met her eariler. There would've been no pain, no trouble. He wouldn't of wanted to die with such desire.
Bad timing he guessed.

The golden and earthen shaded vix looked to him as he glanced over her. She wondered what he was thinking. She smiled gently as he spoke. Her eyes closed softly and a cold breeze played with her fur. It was a rustling breeze, not at all threatening or bitter. It was just right. The fem's tail swished once and sigh of content escaped her lips. The fem opened her mouth to speak but found that he'd already begun to do so again.
Her eyes softened again, and she took a few hurried and frantic steps toward him. She was frightened and at a loss for words. Leave, he couldn't leave! She needed him, wanted him there. He was her friend, her...her thoughts stopped. She didn't know herself exactly what he was to her, but he was so very important. Her heart sank and her eyes filled with tears, only this time of sorrow and not of joy. "Oh...please...no. I am not perfect. And...” she turned away, choking on her words. It took only a split second to void her eyes of their usual joy. Just the thought of him leaving, of never seeing him again, drove her to grieving. Just moments before she'd been smiling, but such a sensitive little thing she was, now sobbing uncontrollably. "And please don't go..." she managed in a cracked whisper, her brown eyes staring into his pleadingly. She was so scared that she didn't take even a moment to think that she was over-reacting. Ah, but it is the time you waste over someone that makes them truly special. Thantos had tamed her already. Soon his voice would be special, different form any other. His footfalls would be like a thousand sounding bells. To her, he would be unique in all the world. She...wanted to be with him, but it could never be so if he were to leave.
Her thoughts roamed to what would happen if he were to stay, and if he were to go. If he were to stay she would waste no time in finding out what she felt for him. Her heart and spirit told her that it was love, for sure, but…she’d just met him. Was it really fair to throw such emotions upon him? She hung her head. Well, even if it wasn’t love, she cared for him deeply. If he were to leave, she didn’t know what she’d do. Would other pack-members be enough? Thantos had already claimed, although he did not know, a very special piece of her heart. If he were to leave, he would steal quite a piece of it from her. She looked at him and her heart jumped at the sight of him. There was no denying it. She had feelings, strong feelings for him. Feelings that one has for a mate. Her sorrowed eyes looked longingly up at him, and she took one more hesitant step toward him. Everything about her seemed to beg him to stay. “Thantos, I’ve always had such happy dreams, but I think that if you would stay, they would be greater still. I do not wish to be selfish, but please stay, for if you left, I believe that I may never know a joyous dream again…” she said, and she meant it. She believed that once you found something that you would cherish forever, then whatever else before that brought you happiness, could never compare. The sweetest dream would never do if he was gone. her head was almost throbbing with confusion and worry, so she forced herself to sit, and she stared down at the sparkling blanket of snow, her heart pounding, waiting anxiously for his voice.

Quickly as she had started her slight melt down, he relized how deeply he had hurt her in his words. Sure, he was indeed serious about leaving. Of course, if he did leave, he wouldn't be returning. At all. He would die out there.
It wasn't that he didn't want to stay. Did he. . ? Yes, he truely did. He would sacrifice himself for this fem. Could he truely feel so strongly about someone he had just met. . ? Was it even sane? Not that he really cared whether he was sane or not, because certainly he had lost some of his right mind back in his burdenous history.
"Shhh. . . It's okay. . ."
Thantos stepped behind Whisper, not even thinking properly about space issues. He began to walk over her, nuzzling along her neck. Slowly his haunches fell, so he was sitting directly behind her. Their pelts blended in the lost space between them, and he learned the total feel of her warmth. For he never agreed not to go.
His neck curved around her chest in a compassionate gesture. He pressed his muzzle into her breast, and engulfed her smell thoroughly. This was what heaven would be like; he needed perfect mental images to transfer over from death.

Whisper tried very hard to quiet her sobs. Her breath was sharp and short, like a weeping child. She closed her eyes, tears burning them, but if you lcose you eyes long enough...tears cease. she was so ashamed. She was being so selfish, breaking down over this, when she should have been comforting him. Begging him would never do. now he had to comfort her when she had created her own sorrows with her overreaction. The vixen heard his soft words, and tried all the harder to calm herself. he didn't deserve this extra grief and burden of taking care of her.
As her ran along her, her sobbing lessened, and her body shook less. His warmth coursed through her like a warm fire. She returned his gestures as he caressed her. sono he embraced her with his neck around her wist, his headd on her chest. she lowered her head, curving her neck over his head. "I...I..." she sobbed quietly. "I'm so...very...sorry." she choked, tohugh slightly more audible than before. "For being so..." but she stopped, unable to continue nor find the words. She was going to say selfish, but it didn't quite fit. His warmth comforted her, and her heart was pushing out the sorrow with joyful thoughts. With every second of his touch her realization of her love grew greater. She wnated to ask him then and there to be with her forever...but now wasn't the time. Her breathing slowed, a few sobs here and there, but a sigh of comfort and relief could be heard from the golden dove.
